Not sure what to say?

Joyce was a wise woman and dear friend. We worked together at Skyline High School, but we were more than just teaching comrades. She was special. Always she had a listening ear and would willingly share anything to help lighten the load and effectively teach. I remember her unmatched china settings; her skill with refinishing beautiful furniture and her ability to make everyone feel special. I miss this amazing woman.

So sorry to hear of her passing. She is and will always be my favorite English teacher! 100 days to a better vocabulary was the best! A wonderful teacher who will be missed!

I will always remember the English courses with Ms. Stonehocker in the early 1980's at Cyprus. We mastered the art of diagramming sentences…and hopefully avoided dangling participles! She was a great teacher and will be missed.

I still carry with me lessons she taught in grammar and literature. Thank you Ms. Stonehocker for sharing your passion with so many students. Your influence lives on in them . . .

Mrs. Stonehocker was an unforgettable teacher and a wonderful lady.

Mrs Stonehocker inspired generations of students. She helped me see my potential even though I was terrified of writing. She is an example to every teacher of the kind of legacy they should leave. As her family, you will miss her, but she will never be forgotten. Cyprus HIgh class of '82

I was so sorry to hear about Joyce's passing. She was my cooperating teacher when I student taught at Cyprus High School. I appreciated her wit and humor; mostly, I admired her love of teaching. She influenced countless students. Joyce has left a beautiful legacy.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Ms. Stonehocker.
She was a gifted teacher. It was obvious that she loved the written word and wanted to pass that love on to the young people in her charge. Thank you for instilling in me that love. I have and always will think of you anytime the book The Scarlet Letter comes up in conversation. Rest in peace.

I have thought of my favorite English teacher many times through the years as well. She challenged and inspired me in class and helped to foster a love of the Classics. I will forever be grateful for her influence in my life and will never forget so many of the things I learned from her. I'm saddened to hear of her passing.
