Dear Joyce Vanderlaan's Family, I was so sorry to hear of Joyce's passing. My mother, Arlene, and she were very good friends and neighbors when I was growing up. I remember always knowing when Arlene and Joyce had gotten together because they spoke a mile a minute with barely a breath. They looked a little bit a like and laughed almost the same. I have good memories of your mom, from coming over to the house, to working with her at Steele, she told me to call her Joyce, but to me she was Mrs Vanderlaan, been a real pleasure to know her.
