I am sorry to read of your Dad and Grandad's death. I knew him through his son Ben and wife Nell. He was always a very polite and likeable person. I know he will be greatly missed. Patsy (Giles) Mathis

My whole family knew J.P. and mother, plus rest of family.My mother Nell Underwood and Mrs Rotton were best friends. We are all so sorry of his loss.We also knew Othello and the kids.We will miss him a lot . Sarah Underwood Phillips (the Baby of our family}

Dear Family of J.P.,
My dad, Frank Underwood, loved your dad as much as any best friend or brother he ever had in this life. I've listened to lots of stories about their young lives as well as their old. I do wish someone would have written a book about them all! It would have brought so much pleasure to many they never even met. Maybe ole Ug Franklin or somebody will yet.
Tom Sawyer had nothing on them. Adventurers in their own right.
God bless you as you say your goodbyes...

I had known J.P. Rotten, Jr. for over 46 years. I bought my first car, a 56 Chevy, from him in 1963. Every time I saw him, he was always a congenial friend to me. I thank God that I knew him and many of you, his family. May God be with you and hold you close to Him during this time of your grief. "Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not" (Lamentations 3:22). You have my love and prayers!

Dear Beth, Joy & Janet, I'm so sorry to read of your Dad's death. May God comfort you during this time of grief. I know you don't remember me, but J.P. and my Daddy (Joe Borgan) were in the produce business together a long, long time ago. I remember your Mom and Ben and you little girls. I knew that Othella had passed on, but did not know about Ben. My condolences to you and your families!
