I met Senior Drill Instructor Juan Carranza in May 1976 at MCRD San Diego, CA. He was short, tough and professional. I can still see him in my mind on that parade deck teaching us D&C. He was fair; he was strict; he was a Marine's Marine. Shortly before he died, I visited Brandon, Florida and had a talk with him. He remembered me...I'll never forget him. Dear Carmen, I was so sadden to find this out about John, but I very seldom log onto TWS. Please accept my much overdue condolences.
