Juan Cota Jr. passed away on November 30, 2021, surrounded by his family at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, California.
Juan was born in Blythe, California on December 26, 1950, to Juan and Henrietta Cota. He attended local schools in Blythe and was a truck driver for over 35 years. Before truck driving, Juan worked at Kaiser Steel in Eagle Mountain, California for 10 years before it’s closure. Juan was passionate about truck driving and had excellent work ethics. He was very dedicated and loyal to his employers.
Juan married Belinda “Penny” Sauceda on March 9, 1974, in Blythe, California. They had three daughters, Diona “DeeDee”, Monica and Angela. He was a proud husband and father. To his daughters, he was the ultimate “Girl Dad”. He later became a grandfather to six grandchildren. He was so proud to have earned his title as “Tata”. He made sure to attend all his grandchildren’s school, sports and extracurricular activities as he was their #1 fan. Being around his family brought him his greatest joy.

Juan was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Henrietta Cota and brother, Eddie Cota.
Juan was a very caring and humble man who touched many lives. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Juan’s viewing will be held at Frye Chapel & Mortuary (633 N. 7th St., Blythe, CA 92225), on December 17th, 2021, beginning at 5:00 p.m., with the Rosary starting at 6:00 p.m. Burial services will be private.

John worked for our trucking company for over 20 years, he was an excellent employee but mostly he and his family were our friends. John was a very dependable and hardworking individual and when my husband was ill, he stepped up and handled what needed to be done. My heart breaks for Penny and the family for their loss of an awesome husband, father, grandfather and my friend. Rest in Peace John Boy.

We have worked with John for years and thoroughly enjoyed each time he came to Yuco Gin. His words of wisdom will be greatly missed by all of us and his positive nature most of all.
