Dear Brother,

You memorial service was beautiful. I felt your spirit close as we gathered and cherished your memory. I spoke at your service to wish you farewell and there was so much love that night from those who came together to celebrate your memory. I will miss the way you hugged me and always told me how much you loved me. It broke my heart to lose you but you didn't go alone for a part of me went with you. There will always be a heartache and often a silent tear but always a...

It broke my heart to lose you but you didn't go alone for part of me went with you. There will always be a heartache and often a silent tear but always a precious...

When I first saw John outside for the first time he was talking to two men in Spanish and I thought "Gosh he sure talks good Spanish for being a white guy. He speaks it better than me and I'm the one who is Mexican". Come to find out he was just as Mexican as I was. Not a mean streak in him. He was always kind and caring. Always gave me a hug when I saw him. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was no stranger to...

Juan was such a warm and friendly person. I will miss seeing him at Smither Park. He was a very dear man and so excited about the warrior he was building.

I met Juan at the Smither Park site a few months ago and enjoyed his conversation, ideas and his work on the Wall at the Park for Children. He will be missed and my condolences to his family and friends. Mary Jane Victor

Juan was a charismatic man who brightened the lives of all who knew him. My husband and I have only known him for a few months, since he started his art project at Smither Park in his East End neighborhood, but we came to treasure him and admire his enthusiasm and creativity. We will miss him. Barbara & Marks Hinton

Juan was a good friend to do many people. He was known throughout Fonde as a giver. He loved our small neighborhood and was always ready to lend a hand. He will be missed dearly. Thankfully we in thr Fonde Civic Club will always have a piece of him in our hearts and at Smither Park memorial wall. Rest in peace friend.
