Not sure what to say?

It is with deep regret that I have not taken the initative to build a closer relationship with my extended family, those whose history that I share.

Aunt Juanita was a family icon, a leader of her siblings, and an example of love to the world.

I extend my most profound sympathies to her immediate family for their loss and hope they find comfort in her heavenly ascension.

She was my Aunt, a woman to be proud of, and though time has briefly separated us, I know that one day...

Robert and I send our sympathy and prayer to Juanita Gurd's family. I am Joe's Lewis's daughter Kathy.

Though we lived far apart, we were blessed to have had sister Juanita as a guest in our home and to spend several times with her at various family functions. Her wry smile and hearty laugh will be with us always. Joe recalls that being the oldest, she was the "boss" that the other eight siblings surely were in need of. He has told me many times of the numerous chocolate cakes that she created for all of them. Thank God for the great memories that we will cherish.
Brother Joseph...

I will miss my good friend and dear sister. The week before her accident she had called me "just to visit" and that we did for about an hour. When we came up to visit her in the hospital I hated to see that way, but I'm so glad we came, because she even smiled a couple of times when I was telling cute remarks my great-granddaughter had made. I will keep that smile with me always. She definitely will be missed and I will look forward to visiting with her again later.

I worked with Juanita in the late 60's at Barry County Telephone.

I was the REA Field Representative
I always appreciated her dedication

Grandma Gurd loved her family. Each and every child, grandchild and great grandchild carries her memory. What a blessing we all share in having been touched by Grandma's life.

My Grandma was a wonderful person, careing, open, loving, strict when necessary. She helped anyone and everyone unless you crossed her, then you were on your own. I helped her with the food bank while I was staying with her and saw firsthand just exactly what the Good Lord ment by "love your neighbor". She taught me what being a grandparent was all about. She spoiled me but wouldn't put up with any misbehavior. Now that I have grandchildren of my own I hope that I can apply what she taught...

Juanita Gurd was my Grandmother. She had a big impact on my life and I will miss her. I remeber sitting on her lap as a little girl and her reading stories from the bible to me. I'm told that is were I got my love of reading. She gave me a gift by taking the time to read me stories and create this love of literature that I have, and because of that I will forever think of my Grandma Gurd everytime I pick up a book. I love you Grandma

My Grandma Gurd is a very special lady. Underneath a sometimes gruff exterior she was a very caring and warm individual who would help without a second thought. I am very thankful that I can call her my grandmother. I am so glad that we had the opportunity to go visit her and she was able to get to know her great grandchildren Josh and Tyler. I may have thought she was mean when I was a kid because she didn't give in to our every want but I know she loved me very deeply. My family will...
