Juanita Harvey

JUANITA LIGONS HARVEY was born on Wednesday, January 10, 1940 and departed this life Wednesday, May 9, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry Dennis Ligons, Jr.

Maggie Lee McGee Ligons, husband Alvis Harvey Sr., son Allen Harvey, sister Harriet Elizabeth Scott, and a brother Noland Howard Ligons.

She loved the Lord and gave her life to God at a young age through Jesus Christ. She graduated from Colbert High School in 1958. Basketball was a sport she like playing in High School. She worked for San Jacinto College for 20 years until her retirement. Her hobbies included reading, shopping with her sister, sports and traveling.

She leaves to cherish her memory, (4) sons: Alvis Bryant Harvey Jr., Calvin Earl Harvey, Alex Brian Harvey, Reginald Howard Harvey (Kenyetta). Siblings: Burley Gants (Thomas), Harry Ligons, Jr. (Patricia), Carolyn Major, Calvin Earl Ligons, Sister-in-law Mary Jane Ligons. A host of Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren, Nephews, Nieces, other relatives, and friends.

She loved family, friends, and church.

Cherishing her memories are Children: Alvis Bryant Harvey, Calvin Harvey, Alex Harvey and Reginald Harvey (Kenyatte), Siblings: Burley Ligons Gants (Thomas), Carolyn Ligons Majors, Harry Ligon Jr. (Patricia) and Calvin Earl Ligons. As well as a host of Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren other relatives and friends.

Services will be May 19, 2018 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church 1406 Beauty St. Dayton, TX. Visitation will begin at 9AM until funeral at 11AM. Interment will be in Ligons Cemetery, Dayton, TX.
