Angelus Funeral Home - San Antonio Obituary

Juanita P. Munoz, 89, transitioned to eternal life on Monday, August 9, 2021.  She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  Juanita was born to the late Jose Angel and Elodia R.  Perales, in San Antonio, Texas on September 1, 1931.

Juanita was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, church, and community.

Juanita was blessed with a large and loving family. She raised her five children with love, patience, discipline and humility. From the very beginning, Juanita dedicated her children to God and faithfully took her children to church every Sunday.  She loved gardening, to sing in the choir and watch novellas.

Juanita was a “Silent Warrior.” She was kind and soft-spoken, selfless and giving, and was always serving others.  Juanita is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator.

Juanita is survived by her five children Maria Magdalena Guerrero, Melba (Sergio) Leal, Melida Melissa (Albert) Eng, Gonzalo Alfredo (Janice Teeter) Munoz of Colorado Springs, CO, and Jose Louis (Linda) Munoz; her grandchildren Michelle Guerrero, Marisa Guerrero, Ann Valle, Joshua Enriquez, Marinna Eng, Lina Eng, Anthony Munoz, Travis Teeter, Megan Waibel, Brandon Munoz, Jalynn Munoz, and Celeste Perez; her great-grandchildren Jewlyssa Guerrero, Tristan Guerrero, Angel Cruz, Robert Delgado, Madison Valle, Emiliano Palacios, Valencia Teeter, Javin Teeter, Bella Waibel, Levi Arcos, and Noah Arcos; her brother, Jose Angel Perales, Jr.; her in-laws Edward Gonzales, Carmen Perales, and Arturo and Narcisa Galaviz including numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.  She was preceded in death by her parents Jose Angel and Elodia R. Perales; her brothers Rudy (Isabel) Perales, Adolfo (Alma) Perales, and David Perales; her sisters, Angelita (Jesus) Tavarez and Gloria Gonzales; her great-grandchildren Gregory Cruz and Noel Cruz.

We want to thank the staff members at Trinity Hospice, especially Joanne Hernandez and Roseann Herrera who cared for and provided support to Juanita the last four years; Care Providers Mariama Namora and Betty Vasquez, as well as family who helped this kind and gentle woman with her journey to meet her maker.
