Juanita B. Struble

I was honored to have called Juanita my friend. We met through a business relationship, that quickly became a deep connection. She was a kind and generous person and her contributions to the Lakewood Center for the Arts, and support of our community were very much appreciated. Rest in peace, dear Juanita. I will miss our talks and visits.

I first met Juanita in 2002 when she visited OHSU as a potential donor to the Heart Research Center. After visiting my laboratory, where we did research in cardiovascular genetics, Juanita gave my lab a generous donation to support our work. As an early career scientist, it meant the world to have someone believe in our work. And it helped immensely to have the extra funds to support my growing lab.
