I'm so sorry to hear of her passing. My deepest sympathies to her family and friends. She was my fourth grade teacher and we kept in touch occasionally, especially around our birthdays, which were close. We met 30+ years ago and she was a fantastic person, teacher, and friend to me. Mrs. Birtwistle was my fourth grade teacher at St. Mary´s. I didn´t have a good home life, she saw that and believed in me. I never forgot her telling me I could be an angel if I wanted to be.
