Judith Elizabeth "Judie" Tessmer Bishop, age 76 of Hendersonville, has passed peacefully on February 22nd, 2018. She was surrounded by love as she met our Maker for her next journey. She was born on May 16th, 1941, when apple blossoms in Marshfield, Wisconsin were covered by snow; she was the daughter of the late William Tessmer, Sr. and Patricia Tessmer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Todd Bruce in 2016. She is probably Polka dancing in the heavens above with him.
Judie had a kind and gentle soul; she was deeply loved and will be missed. Her life was about gatherings/parties, her church, gardening/plants/flowers; dancing, shopping, reading, quilting/sewing, laughing, and getting dressed up. She always smile, enjoyed Facebook, the beach and had a positive outlook.
She met and married her Darling David Bishop, with over fifty three years of marriage, they have worked together helping others in the medical field, hiked, picnicked, enjoyed restaurants, enjoyed social life, traveled and raised three daughters: Janet Pretorius and her husband, David of SC, Anne Bishop and her spouse Joanne of PA and Kimberly Bishop-Cox and her spouse Angeline of NC. Judie loved and spoiled her grandchildren, Nathan, Julie, Melanie, John, James, Elisabeth, Rachel, Andrew, Matthew and Jaxon. We can't forget the grand doggies, Amber, Tucker and Stella. She has a large loving Wisconsin family; her siblings, Peggy June Maier (Colin) of Wisconsin Rapids, Rosemary Bruce (Nathan) of Milton, William Tessmer (Louise) of Junction City, Nancy Tippery (Kenneth) of Lodi, James Tessmer (Kathleen) of Junction City and her baby sister, Sharon Studinski (Gerald) of Cluster, Wisconsin. Her family has grown with the most caring nieces and nephews.
When you see a dragonfly, think of her… When you see something pretty with sparkles think of her…When you think of the best Wife, Mom, Grandma, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, Friend think of her…
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 2nd, 2018 at Our Lady of the Angels Chapel of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church officiated by Father Martin Schratz.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations in Judie's memory be directed to Interfaith Assistance Ministry, Clothing Closet, 310 Freeman Street, Hendersonville, NC 28792; or by visiting www.iamhendersoncounty.org.
An online register book is available for family and friends by visiting www.thosshepherd.com. Thos. Shepherd & Son Funeral Directors and Cremation Memorial Center is in charge of the arrangements
