Read MoreI was traveling home from work along 5 Mile near Parnell. Sister Judy was walking a big black dog that I instantly recognized as a Mastiff mix. She was gathering the mail. I pulled over and we had the most amazing conversation about dogs. In addition to her passion for gardening she truly loved animals. Bless your heart. I will always remember this encounter.

With sadness I honor this amazing woman who was so dedicated to training me as a new RN at Saint Mary's Hospital Orthopedic floor in 1984. Her professionalism and skill was unmatched as we used to say that she could start an IV on a turnip. I became proficient and after 40 years, just retired. I did thank her in 2015 with a card as the Hospice I worked with was stationed at St. Anne's in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
