Not sure what to say?

Dear John and Family, At this time, so close to our national Thanksgiving Day, I am reminded of how grateful I have been in the past to Judith. When I was a new staff member at Urbana, Judith made me feel welcome and thereafter whenever I encountered Judith she was always very willing to stop and chat or offer encouragement to me. One day she looked up from the plans for her new home in Colorado and said hello, then showed me what she was pondering. It was another warm and friendly moment...

Valentine's Day is a perfect time to remember our dear friend Judith Liebman because she always showed kindness, interests, and caring for all she worked with, knew for many years, or met in recent years. Whenever I encountered Judith on campus at UI at Urbana-Champaign, she greeted me with great warmth and enthusiasm. She made me feel good and I was always in awe of how much she cared about all around her, no matter how recent she had known us. I miss her reassuring friendliness. Michele...

Dear Jon, Christopher, Michael, and Becky, One the anniversary of the loss of your wife and mother and a beloved friend to me and countless others, I mourn with you and lament the loss of an extraordinary woman. Judith was a friend to me because she, in her typical warm manner, reached out to me, a minor administrator at the Urbana campus soon after my arrival and extended friendly hello and welcome. Thereafter, she continued this warmth and offered help to me in my roles at the UI. Even...

Jon and Judith were wonderful supporters of our local schools. The family legacy gift will continue to grow the schools that shape and inspire tomorrow´s youth. Thank you for your love and the gift that sustains our teaches and pupils. Rest in peace.

Sending our condolences and prayers. The Liebman family were ardent supporters of our local public schools, and lifelong learners invested in the arts.

Judith was the nicest, smartest and most interesting person I ever met. I played bridge with her for years. She was always upbeat and kind. She gave me some of Jon's ties to use in my quilting. I made one for her and since my husband liked it so much, I made one for him. I will miss her.

Dear Jon and Family Judith was one of the first to welcome me to the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and was always helpful and warm when we discussed issues facing the university. I missed her presence and kindness when she and Jon retired. I mourn with many friends and colleagues her passing and deeply sympathize with her family at this difficult time of loss. Judith left many legacies, accomplishments, breakthroughs for women in her profession, and in higher...

On behalf of the Urbana Rotary Club, I extend our deep condolences at Judith's passing. Judith was THE FIRST woman Urbana Rotarian. We are fortunate we were able to honor her for this, just a few weeks ago. For us, her memory certainly serves as a blessing. Best, Barbara Jones, President, Urbana Rotary Club
