Judith Mae Urista was born on July 16, 1940, in Minneapolis to Newton & Elvira (Vogen) Jones. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and loving husband, John, on September 14, 2024. Judy retired from Medtronic where she worked in the clean room on pacemaker leads. Judy especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, even the furry ones. She enjoyed reading, camping, traveling, musicals and listening to music. Judy was known for her chocolate cake and everyone fighting over the corner pieces. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, John; daughters Linda (Al) Johnston, Denise (Mike) Meinert; 6 grandchildren, Tony, Chris, Lexy, Jack, Logan and Brady along with their significant others; 1 great grandson, Caleb; Brother Raymond (Peggy) Jones; Sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Gary) Long and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, David; parents Newton & Elvira Jones; siblings Newton Jones, Irene (Charles) Nichols. Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 4, 2024 at 11 AM with a visitation one hour prior at Thurston-DeShaw Funeral Home, 13817 Jay Street NW, Andover, MN. Interment will be Monday, October 7, 2024 at 10:45 AM at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Meet on Assembly Area #4.
