Burkhart Funeral Home - Crawfordsville Obituary

Judith Kirkpatrick Hites

September 12, 1942-October 23, 2025

Judy Hites, 83, of Crawfordsville, IN went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ October 23 with her beloved family by her side.

Judy was born September 12, 1942, in New Castle Indiana to Clyde and Marjorie Kirkpatrick. Judy graduated from New Castle High School in 1961. She had several different jobs, including Woolworth, JC Penny, Dekalb, RR Donnelly Glenn Street, and eventually, retiring from Wal-Mart Optical.

Judy was a devoted Christian who cherished her bible and reading scripture. She always said Jesus, her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids were her greatest gifts. You could often find her listening to the Gaither Local Band, watching sports, old westerns, reading books by John Hagee, and Jonathan Cahn. But her favorite time was spent watching her grandkids sporting events and having her family gathered for holidays and special occasions. She had a giving and loving spirit, often giving to others even if it meant she would go without. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Paul, Jack and Linda. Also, a beloved son James “Chad” Hites.

Judy is survived by siblings Joyce Durman, Nancy Driver, and Claude Kirkpatrick

And survived by her children Lorie Hites (Steve French), Mike (Heather) Hites,

Grandchildren: Cory Crabb, Emily (Levi) Klopfenstein, Adrianna Hartle (Jake Lake), Savannah (Dylan) Levitt, Garrison Hites, Braeden Hites

Great Grandchildren: Hayden, Amara, Killian, Monroe, and Kyren

She attended faithfully at Eastside Baptist Church

A private burial will be held prior to a Celebration of Life Service

Visitation will be held at Eastside Baptist Church Thursday October 30th from 4-6 pm with a Worship/Celebration of Life Service to immediately follow. Pastor Steve Whicker will officiate.

The family is suggesting everyone wear Judy’s favorite color purple in her honor.

Not sure what to say?

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Judy is Home! She was a part of our church ladies group and we all had so many good times of fellowship and laughter with her. Judy said over and over again that she was ready to meet her Savior face-to-face. We look forward to seeing her again

I got to know Judy in the last 5 years and wish it was sooner! We have a group of ladies at church who went places to eat or just fellowship, and i grew to love her has a great friend! She had a bright smile, encouraging words, loved spending time with her! She will truly be missed, but she has been ready to me our God for a while, know she is sitting at Jesus’s feet asking all sorts of questions!!

I am so sorry for your loss Judy was a very special lady she was a dear friend of mine. She will be missed by many.
