Dear Val and family - I am so sorry to read of your mother's passing. I remember meeting her at your house on E.22 St. back in 1975 and being grateful for the hospitality and warmth she showed a total stranger.

As a colleague at NYU I admired her verve and will miss her ability to put her mind on the main point and go on to have fun. I am sure she is now laughing at all of us who never dreamed she was 81. I will miss her
