JULES SILK

I just learned of Jules's passing. So sorry. A great loss to all who knew him. The oldest and dearest friend of my beloved husband, Wally Fink, Jules and Bernice blessed us with their presence whenever they were able to arrange a visit. Jules was an important part of our history. I am grateful for his presence in our lives. And I send much love to Bernice.

So sorry to learn today that Dear Jules - cousin of my wife, June, and my friend for countless years - passed away on 28th December. We were in regular Zoom contact until his stroke made him virtually bedbound - and I am so sad that we did not contact each other like this for the past few months. I send my deepest condolences to Bernice and I want her to feel that I truly share her pain over this loss that words cannot describe.

I worked with Jules when he was with Mesirov. A kinder soul I´ve never encountered. His knowledge of film was unsurpassed - I recall an extensive discussion of Ralph Richardson´s performance in The Fallen Idol. His pleasure was palpable. The world is poorer for his absence.

I remember dinners in your Cheltenham home; I remember my husband watching old movies that Jules brought to our apartment, chosen because Jules was well versed in older films. I remember my husband, Eddie, commenting with wonder that Jules remembered every scene and every actor or actresses name from movies he hadn't watched for years. I remember wonderful travel reports Jules wrote and sent to friends detailing day by day what he and Bernice had done that day, where they had lunch and...
