Julia M. “Judy” McGrath also know as “Toots” to many passed away Monday, August 12th at Bishop Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Syracuse, NY. She was 87 years old.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, August 20th at Carpenter Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville. Calling hours will be prior to the service from 1-3 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Woodside Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Henderson Community Building for friends and family.
Judy was born in Henderson, NY, on December 25, 1936, daughter to the late Earl and Julia Cook Grandjean. She graduated from Henderson School in 1955. She married Howard A. McGrath July 9, 1955, in the Belleville Methodist Church parsonage with the Rev. Miles Hutchinson officiating. Howard passed away October 19, 2002.
A lifelong resident of Henderson she worked at Phil’s General Store, Association Island and Rod’s Big M.
She enjoyed fishing, quilting, crocheting, bird watching, her cats and working in the garden.
Surviving are her children, Kevin (Kathy), Ohio; Vernon (Lisa), Cicero; Valerie Moore, Henderson; Cindy (Rick) Darrah, Peru; Mary (Daryl) Forrester, Belleville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Charles, Dan, Ralph, John, Robert Grandjean and Grace Schrankler.
She loved Christmas and her birthday most of all since they were the same day. But most of all family was her greatest gift of all.

My memories of Aunt Judy were mostly those before I moved to Oregon in 1971. Judy was always a joy to be around and I'm sure that didn't change over time. You will be missed and thought of by many.
