I will truly miss Julia, she was my inspiration. I have never met a stronger woman. She was absolutely amazing-my hero....I will always think of you Ms. Julia-everytime I see a butterfly...butterfly kisses for you Ms Julia.

Julia was an engaging and inspiring person. She gave me an abelia bush which thrives in my garden and attracts multitudes of butterflies. Her delight in nature was cantageous. It is nice to see a person make such a multidimensional and lasting contribution to society after her retirement. Tony Picardi (Belle Haven, Virginia)

A truly independent soul, intelligent and thoughtful. Julia did admirable things in life. May peace be hers in the after world.

I have such fond memories of Aunt Julia from our trip east when we visited her. Because of her I helped our students create a butterfly garden in the school where I teach. She was always fascinating to talk with because of her knowledge and interests. We love the painting she did of our house, which I asked her to do as a surprise for my husband, her nephew. We will miss the wonderful phone conversations we had with Aunt Julia.
