Not sure what to say?

A letter from Bets' Grandchildren as read at her funeral service.

Dear Nana Banana,

While you lie there in peace (notice we didn’t say lay) we wanted to thank you for teaching us not only the rules of grammar but also about life, love and laughter.

You were very sharp witted, even in your last days. You truly were the world’s best at cards, especially when it was a nickel a point. You had a pithy wisecrack for every situation. You helped us learn a valuable lesson:...

So sorry to hear of Bet's passing. You all remember how her and my Mom Myrtle could get into uncontrollable laughing jags. I learned the value of "straight talk" from her. She'll be missed.

Mrs. Drenk was a turning point in a troubled time. As my 5th grade teacher 1957-59, she gave me confidence when no one else would. I thank her to this day.

Betts and my late wife were partners in the classroom. They were so close that Betts or Harriet could start a sentence and the other could finish it. Many stories were told at the dinner table. A fast speed boat was one of them. I'm sure she will be greatly missed.
Sherman Faber presently spending the fall and winter in Vegas.

She was one great lady. One of my first teachers back in 2nd grade at Melzer School. Everyone loved her, she was one teacher I never forgot. She lived a great life and will be greatly missed. My thoughts are with the family at this time of sorrow.

Sorry to hear about Aunt Bets. Wish we could have come. God bless you.
