Not sure what to say?

Remember Julia from Stockton School thru San Diego High. She lived on 30th Street. Ruckers moved to San Diego when we were going to Stockton.

This message of Condolence is for Clark Rucker; son of Charles and Julia Rucker. Clark, I don't know if you remember me but, my name is Tyronne. I used to visit you all in San Diego with my grandparents, and your great uncle and aunt, Bertram and Margaret Rucker. I only saw you and your younger bro. Scott when I'd visit with my grandparents. By the time of your bro. SCOTT's passing and your father Chuck's passing, we'd lost contact. Chuck was the reason I became a Los Angeles Police officer....

Julia was the niece-in-law of my grandfather, Bertram and Margaret Rucker of Riverside, Ca. The first time I met Julia was in Mira Loma, Ca. She and cousin "Chuck" came to visit with Uncle Clarence, aka " Buddy" and aunt Anna. Julia was just as beautiful inside and outside. Very gracious and very stylish. Julia, in my opinion, was one of the very many beautiful women in my childhood life, that possessed the qualities of an excellent mother, and affluent in character, African American woman...

Clark and family - I just learned today of your mother's passing. I am so sorry. Julie and I worked together at SSA from 1975 to 1978 though we kept in touch for some years afterward. She was always so elegant, classy, and kind. Through her I met your father for whom I have always had a great deal of respect. I admired his art work at the studio in Spanish Village in Balboa park, and for his famous gimlet recipe he prepared for our office beach parties. Your parents were awesome. They are...

Sister Julie was the epitome of grace, dignity, and determination. She, like Chuck, was a active advocate for African Culture in its totality. After their visit to West Africa and, especially, their visit in The Gambia to "The Door of No Return", Sister Julie recounted that she cried uncontrollably aware of that cruel exit of our enslaved people. I will re-chain and forever cherish and wear her gift of the Sankofa Bird. May there be more Julies and Chucks! SANKOFA!!!

Sister Julie, what dynamism! what dignity! I will re-chain and begin again to wear your gift of the Sankofa Bird. You and Chuck did so much to affirm the dignity of African peoples. I remember your response after visiting in The Gambia "The Door of No Return". I stood there looking out to what happened to our ancestors and cried uncontrollably". SANKOFA!! Let there be many more Julies and Chucks!

Heartfelt condolences are sent to Clarke, Ann, and Family. Mrs. Rucker will rest in peace with Lord...Amen

Heard about Julia today. Went to Stockton School with her and Charles (Grammar School) May God Bless Her Family.

What a dear, sweet beautiful lady, so full of goodness, grace and class. Absolutely the best neighbor I have ever had the pleasure of living next door to. She will be deeply missed by everyone on Hollyhock. My deepest condolences to everyone in her beautiful family. RIP Sweetheart.
