Julia Wilson Starke joined her parents, Kit and Jack Wilson, and her grandmothers, Julia Wilson and Christie McLeod, in spirit on September 12, 2018. Julia was born on January 15, 1962 in Durham, North Carolina and was the beloved middle sister to her older sister, Katharine, and younger brother, John.
Julia was a lifelong creative and artist, making bodies of work with anything she could get her hands on: wax, crayons, cd's, glass, fabric, moss, caulk, wood, and so much more. She loved painting people, and her favorite subjects were her five children. Julia attended the University of Alabama and pledged Kappa Kappa Gamma where she met many of her lifelong friends and the loving father to her children, Trey. She was known for her creativity, deep spirituality, sense of humor, free spirit, natural beauty, and her big heart.
She is survived by her children, Julia Ann (30), Lundy (28), Bo (24), Katharine (21), and Mary Neill (19); their father, Trey Starke; her sister, Katharine and her brother, John; her aunt, Neill; and her nieces and nephews, Christie, Kassie, Jack and Sam.
Julia was grateful to those who loved and supported her throughout the years. If you would like to honor her life, please consider donating to Alabama Shakespeare Festival in lieu of flowers:

Julia found great joy in running with her Springer Spaniel on ASF's beautiful grounds and would be touched to know that she was being honored in this special way.
Alternatively, you can donate to https://arttherapy.org/donate/ to support trauma recovery through the arts.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to the family for words of condolence and support during this difficult time.
