In the fall of 1979 I was an intern to Rep. Stolberg and the Finance Committee, and Julie took me under her wing. Since I was a Republican, she went out of her way to introduce me to Republican legislators, other staff and anyone she thought I should know. When I was elected to the House in 1984 she was one of the first people to congratulate me. She never stopped trying to be helpful and earned the respect of anyone who worked with her from all political parties.

I am so sorry to learn of your loss. Julia was a lovely caring lady who worked on the Democratic Town Committee with my late father. She was so gracious to stop in at Carmon's after his sudden death years ago - a gesture that was never forgotten. She will be truly missed.

In 1979 I was an intern assigned to the Finance Committee at the State Capitol and instantly became friends with Julie. I even accompanied her to the Democratic National Convention (she was a delegate) in New York City. Julie was a wonderful lady ... full of life and laughter.
