Julian M. Fletcher passed away on November 21, 2017, after a courageous 4-year battle with cancer. He was 56 years old. Julian loved to hike up mountains, collect and study rocks and minerals, and photograph the beauty he saw in the world around him. He will be deeply missed and mourned by all who knew and loved him. Julian was born in Romford, Essex on February 14, 1961. He grew up in England, graduated from Bristol University with a degree in Geology, and joined Schlumberger for a career in the oil industry that took him all over the world. Julian loved to explore other countries and other cultures. Through his love of travel he visited over 100 countries and managed to claim his seventh continent in 2016 by visiting Antarctica. Julian is survived by Angie, his wife of 25 years, children Jonathan and Emma, his parents Ron and Joyce Fletcher, his sister Hilary Griffiths, his brother Martin Fletcher, his mother-in-law Jeanne Stovall, his sisters-in-law Bonnie Horton (Tom), and Vivien Duarte (Gonio), brother-in-law Tom Stovall and many nieces and nephews. "The mountains are calling and I must go and I will work on while I can, studying incessantly." - John Muir

So sad to hear this. Julian, we will miss you. It was really so good experience to work with you, just because you care about people. RIP

I am truly saddened by this tragic news. In his last position as D&M InTouch & OSC Manager, I have had the privilege of meeting him, and working with him. I am very thankful for his support & guidance throughout the years. He was a very kind, patient & wonderful manager. I would like to pass my condolences to Julian's family.

Julian ushered me into Schlumberger in Paris 15 years ago, since then we crossed paths a few times and worked together as part of an audit team in West Africa a few years ago, he was one of the kindest people I ever met, with a radiant smile and always a positive attitude, he also had a great sense of humor, my condolences to the family, rest in peace Julian, you will be missed a great deal.

My condolences to his family. I met Julian a few year ago in an audit we were doing together in West Africa. He impressed me a lot -he was always sharing and expressing himself with a lot of peace and calm. Since then I was always happy to contact him over the phone - alwways helpful and happy. RIP Julian

My condolences to the family. I had the chance to meet and work for a couple of years back in Abu Dhabi (UAE) in 2007, and I fell very sorry to hear thatr he passed way.

I am very sad to hear that Julian has passed away. Even though I did not work with him in person, he was my manager remotely when I was working in the Support Center in Colombia and we were in contact by phone all the time. He was one of the most charismatic and gentle people that I have met in the industry, and I wanted to share my experience with him to let people know how the greatness of a person like Julian can transcend across the world and over time.
My condolences to his family...
