I think I knew your mother, if her name was Gladys. I worked with a lady at cCentral Bank in the late sixties and she was very sad at her husbands demise even then. She wqa a very nice woman and helpful. Your dad sounds like a fine gentleman and good man. I know you must still miss him. Jolynn Lenox at the time I worked with her.

What a testimony to an obviously fine man. Thank you for sharing his life with us and may we all leave that same mark on our own families one day..

What a wonderful tribute! I wish I had had the chance to meet this man. I have heard many great things about him. Although he left this world way too soon, he sure made quite an impression on all those who knew him! I also know for a fact, that his children grew up to be AMAZING adults!I love each of them, and I love hearing the stories of their childhood. I am the mother of 2 of Mr. Gross' grandchildren, and I wish they could have met him too. Rest in peace Mr. Gross and say hello to...

To the Gross Family: We do not know each other. I read the Monroe obituaries because of connections with North Louisiana, particularly Monroe/West Monroe and Louisiana Tech. I am so impressed with your loving and beautifully-written tribute to your father. Would that everyone could have a father like yours and devotion to write such a memoriam. God bless you all. May your father rest in peace, and may light perpetual shine upon him. Very sincerely.

I remember your Dad. My memories aren't as sharp as they used to be, but, I can still see your Dad looking under the hood of a car in his shop. I can remember my Daddy calling him "Spot". ( I never knew why) but I know that he and your Mom were good neighbors to my grandparents, Mr. Jim and Mrs Yettie Finklea. Bless all of you for honoring your Dad. Love, Denise Elmore-Coon

You do not know me, but I wanted to thank you for sharing the story of your father. Your story--and your dad--are almost identical to mine, even down to the dates. Like your wonderful dad, my dad left a deep and lasting impression on us children, even though we knew him only a short time. My brother and I have lived our own lives shaped by his strong values. Men and fathers like these are a precious gift that many families never have. Our families were so blessed to have them. I also...
