It is 2023. I just looked up Profesor Palley. The news of his passing touched me very much. He was one of my favorite professors at UCI. He was so thoughtful, kind, funny, and inspiring. His love of language and literature were contagious, as I have been teaching Spanish for 33 years. Few people touch and inspire others. Profe Palley definitely did, as I was just remembering his remarks on my essays, "vease..." - search the language conventions, the references, everything! Those who knew...
