Not sure what to say?

Another generation of Brannen's got on the big yellow bus this AM heading to Camp Josh Powell. We don't know who was singing on the bus but imagine it is being directed by Josh's booming voice from the heavens. Such great memories of Josh and the time our children spent with him. His legacy lives on.

My condolence to the family...,psalms 146:5,9 God has a loving concern for those bereaved.

I worked for Josh at his Buckhead camp in the early 70s. He was a great man who said many times, "Always leave the woodpile higher than you found it." He always did.

I remember Josh when he played basketball at Tech. Seems like only yesterday when I remember it but more like 50 years ago. My condolences to his wife and family. His obituary
says it all- a wonderful person

Josh Powell and his camp will always be a fond memory & story-starter in our house. Our daughter Gildea will never forget the tattle tale tree. Our son Daniel will never forget the dirty fun. As mom, I will never forget the "no whining sign", but much more importantly, that Mr. Powell personally answered each call & note made or sent to the camp. I knew my kids were in good, caring hands. What a great legacy he left our kids & so, so many in Atlanta!

What an awesome celebration in Stanford.
What an awesome life! Thanks to Karen
and Julie (and Jenny) for sharing their memories.

Each day Josh would lead us in the Lord's Prayer. This all took place while he was still in law school. He had a great impact on many people but especially the young men who attended this afterschool program.

Josh was a great man and served as a fine example of character to many people. His legacy is the positive influence that had on so many.

I attended Josh's camp up on Wade Green Road in the 1970s for four or five wonderful summers. I learned to love canoeing and woodworking and fort building. I built fires in the woods and made a canoe paddle, I swam every day, bounced on the trampoline, watched with awe as Josh lit up a portable forge and did some impromptu blacksmithing or pulled on beekeeper's coveralls and treated us to hive-fresh honey. I gathered my first eggs from a chicken, played in a garden, and looked forward to...
