Julian E Sanchez, age 90, died peacefully on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. He was born on February 16, 1921 in Chandler, Texas to Bonifacio and Jovita Sanchez. Julian was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Mary G. Sanchez and two of his daughters, Gladys Jean Sanchez and Esther Batista. Julian is survived by his sisters, Miss Conradita Sanchez and Mrs. Casimira Chavez; his children, Rosann Sanchez (Don Roderick), Michelle Sanchez Porter (Patrick), Michael Sanchez (Velva), Ron Sanchez (Roberta) and son-in-law Antonio Batista (Esther); 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Mr. Sanchez was a World War II veteran who served in the Aviation Branch of the Navy and retired after 43 years of civil service at Kelly Field in 1985. He was a lifelong member of St Gregory the Great Catholic Church and his life revolved around his family, their education and his faith. A visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2012 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church on Saturday, February 18, 2012. Interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
