Not sure what to say?

Julie was the trail blazer of our "Danish Mountain Goats" hiking group. We walked almost every week for many years, and Julie always loved it, and always had new places to hike. She knew the Portland area better than anyone I know. Sometimes I saw Julie twice a week because she was also a part of a Danish DVD movie group. We all loved Julie, and I don't know how we will get along without her happy smile, great personality, and wonderful friendship.

at he reunion

I know its a fact of life that the longer we live the more of our friends leave us but it does not make it any easier.
I last saw Julie in 2010 at our 50th high school reunion and we were able to visit just like no time had elapsed since we last saw each other.
We first met at Merle Davies grade school in the 6th grade and no it doesn't seem like yesterday. Bob and I ran around together and probably got into too much mischief for our own good. They were an interesting couple...

I met Julie when I started my first year at Highland Park. I became the 8th grade English teacher after she retired, leaving me with tough shoes to fill. One day she stopped by and poked her head into the room. ALL the kids were excited to see her, as they had known her and hoped to have her as a teacher (I knew there were a few kids who were disappointed they got me instead of her). She gave me a tremendous endorsement when she told the class "Isn't he great?!" That was a...

Mrs Grenzer was my homeroom teacher in the 8th grade at Highland Park. I haven't remembered the names of most of my teachers, but hers I have. Kids have the impression that teachers are old, but looking back now she was just a young woman starting her carrier at that time. My condolences to the family. Rest in peace Mrs Grenzer.

I remember Julie fondly after all these years since BHS. Sweet and so positive. Friend to all, transcending all those awful cliques. I am not glad to learn of her passing, but I am glad to learn of her life. She deserved and, I am certain, appreciated all the gifts of her life, as others have appreciated the gifts her life has given them. I send strength to Bob. I also remember you well Bob, and as an exact fit for someone like Julie. I liked you both, and now send you my condolences and...

A huge loss to the entire Beaverton community
Mrs. Grenzer was by far and away my favorite teacher
She was one of most inspirational people that I have ever met
I feel lucky and blessed to be one of her former students
Let's all say a prayer for Julie and the entire Grenzer family !!!!

Julie was one of a kind. Welcoming, funny with a contagious smile and warm heart. She will be missed by all who knew her. We were fortunate to know her.
