HOLLAND — Juliet (Kooiker) Sterenberg, age 90, of Holland, went to the presence of the Lord, her Savior, on Wednesday, April 23, 2008, surrounded by her loving family at the Hospice House of Holland.
The daughter of George and Maria Kooiker, Juliet was formerly employed at the Belvedere Nursing Home and Hope College Dining Services.
Juliet was a member of East Saugatuck Christian Reformed Church and volunteered for International Aid, Crossroad Ministries and South Side Christian School.
Her husband, Richard, preceded her in death in 1997.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Marlene and Dan Weighmink of Holland, Carol and Larry Homkes of Hamilton, Wayne and Joni Sterenberg of Traverse City, Cal and Marilyn Sterenberg of Holland, Wes and Laurie Sterenberg of Hamilton; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Amy Arendsen of Holland; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at East Saugatuck Christian Reformed Church, A-3815 56th St., Holland, with the Pastor Edwin Visscher and Reverend Gary Luurtsema officiating. Burial will be prior to the service in Overisel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Notier Ver Lee Langeland Funeral Chapel, 315 E. 16th St., Holland.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Bible League or South Side Christian School.
