When we were kids in the Bronx, I would come down to the apartment to visit. Juliette would feed me a second dinner, as we did not have much in those days. I hope she knew how much I appreciated her kindness. I remember her and my mother laughing at our dining room table at night after we were in bed. Her friendship was an anchor for us in those dark days, and I did not realize how much she (and the family) meant to all of us.
