Juliette R. Owens MULLINS -- Mrs. Juliette Rogers Owens, 73, wife of David H. Owens, died Thursday, October 17, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Owens was born April 7, 1940 in Marion County, a daughter of the late Marvin Brunson Rogers and the late Leila Pearl Brown Rogers. She was a retired bankteller and a homemaker. Mrs. Owens was a very active and devoted member of Gapway Baptist Church, where she taught the Ladies Sunday School Class, was a member of the church choir, was a Senior Adult leader and a member of the WMU. Surviving Mrs. Owens in addition to her husband of the home are: a Sister: Faye Rogers of Brittons Neck; 2 Brothers: Carol (Helen) Rogers of Brittons Neck and M.B. Rogers, Jr. of Brittons Neck; 2 Nieces: Debbie Rogers and Carol Ann (Phillip) Hucks; 2 Great Nieces; a Great Great Niece; and a very dear and special friend who loved Mrs. Owens as a mother: Marilyn Kephardt of Morganton, N.C. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 19, at Gapway Baptist Church, with Rev. Steve Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Gapway Baptist Church Cemetery, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
