Not sure what to say?

Mr. "T" was my favorite teacher at Taft. I often think of him and tell stories of this wonderful man. My deepest condolences to the family on their loss and to all my fellow students who remember "T" so fondly.

Dear Mrs. Tiritilli, Marc and Mara,
I was so saddened to hear of Mr. T's passing. He was truly the most amazing teacher. He is why I, too, became an English teacher and yearbook sponsor. The class of '62 was so fortunate to have him take the time on a rainy evening to attend our class reunion. I happened to be at the door when he came in and it truly brought me to tears when he recognized me and called me by name! How amazing after all the students he touched during his career. He...

Our AP English class ('69) was so much more memorable because of Mr. Tiritilli. He challenged us with the classics and we reenacted the Ides of March. He made us read Don Quixote in the original British translation (before they invented quote marks, apparently) and we knighted him as Sir Julio of Buffalo Grove. I applied much of what I learned in that class to a career in newspaper writing and editing. I was happy to continue to have him as a friend whenever we met again. Taft and its...

To the Family of Mr. Tiritilli,

I am a former student of Mr. Tiritilli from Taft Highschool and wanted to let you know that he was one of my favorite teachers. His passion for reading and English was contageous. I have many fond memories of his class and him as a person. I ran into him several years ago at a wedding of a coworker and was so happy to see he was doing well. He made a difference in so many student's lives, made them feel good about themselves and even gave out a list of...

To the family of Mr. Tiritilli, I live in Calfornia and was talking to a fellow alum about 2 weeks ago, how I wanted to get in touch with Mr. T and tell him how much he meant to me. Mr. T changed my life, AP English, Philosophy, how he put English and literature in context. I will never forget him. he made me a better parent and teacher to my two boys, and a better person. I feel this grief deeply, especially since I wanted to reach out to him these last months.

Dear Mel, Mara & Marc,

We were deeply saddened to learn of Julio's passing. At the same time we feel blessed to have counted he and you among our long-standing friends.

We miss the days that we spent as neighbors in Buffalo Grove and will always cherish those neighbohood memories . To those who knew him, Julio was a special friend, teacher and counselor.

A very special memory was the bus tour of the Chicago area that Julio orchestrated for the Middlesex residents way...

Dear Mrs Tiritilli and family, Jim and I were so sorry to hear of your recent loss. At our Sept. reunion we had the pleasure of visiting with him and sharing old stories from Taft and current ones about our families. He was a special man and will be missed by many.

Mara, Marc and Mrs. Tiritilli, I'm so sorry to hear that Mr. Tiritilli passed away. We were so lucky to grow up on a block with such wonderful people.

Dear Mel,

Our thoughts and sympathy and prayers go out to you and your family. We loved Julio (Tip), he was a great man and will be sorely missed. I will call you soon.

Love, Myra and Family
