Although I never had the priviledge of studying with Mr. Baker, his unequalled artistry certainly has been an influence in my playing. The recordings of him that I own are among my treasured posessions, especially his recording of the Debussy Sonata for Flute, Viola and Harp. He will be missed by all of us who love the flute.

Thank you for being such an inspiration to flutists and students everywhere. May the Baker legacy live on.

You taught me so much more than music. I'm so thankful for the poems you wrote, the jokes you told and the example you set. I loved your suspenders and your constant brimming and proud smile. I miss you.
