Julius Barthoff

Although I only had the opportunity to meet Mr. Barthoff at lunch here at North Hill when he came to visit with us and afford us the opportunity to hear about his life, I am feeling very sad to hear of his death and want to extend my condolences to his family and friends. Mr. Barthoff clearly made so many contributions and seemed to have tireless energy for what he believed in and felt was important. My thoughts are with his family at this sad time. I am honored to have met Julius in the last year of his life. When I met Toby and Julius, I felt like I had known him forever. I promised him lunch and did not follow through. I was taught an important lesson by him, that although his life was long, time is short. He visited our school and brought wisdom, humor , hope and a sense of history to Deaf and Hard of Hearing children from age three to twenty-two.
