I have such fond memories of J.W. during the years that he worked with my grandmother in her store on the parish line. All the grandkids adored him, and I'm sure that we made his life much more difficult by being underfoot as often as we could manage. A great joy was to be invited to go "delivering" with him at 2:00 each Saturday afternoon. I would come into Shoe trunk with my mom, and sing that, it always put a smile on his face.
What a fine man, I first met him 50 years ago, and he kept my mom is SAS shoes, that was all she would wear.
