Julius DeSoto, Jr. 65 of Magnolia, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas. He was born October 16, 1942 in Minden, Louisiana to the late Julius Landrum DeSoto, Sr. and Mildred Martha (Willis) De Soto. He was a welder for various companies and attended North Acres Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his father, four brothers, Charles Lee, Billy Wayne, Jack Glen, and James Allen DeSoto. He is survived by his daughter, Mari Plumlee and husband Marc and there son, Aiden of Ada, Oklahoma; mother, Mildred DeSoto of Magnolia, Arkansas; two brothers, Huey Robert DeSoto of El Dorado, Arkansas, Joe DeSoto of Waldo, Arkansas; three sisters, Jean Keith of Price, Texas, Mary Weber of Ft. Worth, Texas, Martha Cumbie of Waldo, Arkansas; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and countless friends. Funeral services will be Friday, December 7, 2007 at 10:00 am at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jeremy Horton and Bro. Zane Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia. Family visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Joe DeSoto, Jim Hall, Frank Riddle, John Moore, Eddie Doss, and Harold Doss. Honorary pallbearers will be Tillman Hunter and Jimmy Ellis.
