Not sure what to say?

As his grandson this might sound biased but oh well. This man is the greatest man to walk the earth. He has been gone for almost 20 years now and I still cry thinking about him. I have his lab coat from UAB hanging up in my sons, his now would be great grandsons room. My son is named Julius after my grandfather. I miss my grandpa so much. Lloyd and I have just learned of the death of Buddy. Our hearts are sad as we remember the wonderful hours we spent with both of you during the sports reunion in Enterprise, and the breakfast the following morning in the home of Margie and Hob Watson. Lloyd is thankful he knew, and loved, Buddy and his parents while growing up in Enterprise. Our prayers will be with you and all your family during these days. Buddy will be missed. We thank God for him and all he has meant to so many.

Buddy Hicks was always a wonderful, kind, thoughtful and caring man. He and his wife, Ann, mentored and indeed, loved our family as if we were their own.

Dr. Hicks taught our son, Brian to play tennis, and supported Greg in soccer and Lauren in her academic pursuits. Ann and Buddy showered parental pride in Barbara's work as mother and teacher in the Mountain Brook...

The Hob Watson family shares in your grief. Dr. Hicks was ALWAYS there when we called and what a great friend he has been to us over the years. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
