Not sure what to say?

I met with June several times to discuss her brother, the wonderful artist Charles Sallee, and was always struck by the beauty of her soul and person. Her family is fortunate that such a special person touched their lives.

Just found out about the passing of Mrs.Antoine.I lived with the Antoine family for about 3 weeks whilst on an exchange programme in Cleveland in 1996.I remember Mrs.Antoines stunningly beautiful voice and her warmth. My condolences to the family and especially Mr. Antoine.May she rest in peace and as we say in South Africa... Dear Family and Friends,

I just learned of Mrs. Antoine's passing today, and I want to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. She was such an incredible woman, and I had the pleasure of working with her on the Langston Hughes Centennial Celebration, Cleveland Chautauqua, the Zora Neale Hurston Conference, and so many other great programs.

Sometimes, the work was really hard, but she always managed to find something to smile about. I thought I would share this...

The Mt. Pleasant NOW Development Corporation and the Mt. Pleasant Arts, Culture and Entertainment District Advisory Board were devastated to learn of the passing of our dear friend and supporter June Antoine. While our hearts are heavy, we rejoice and thank GOD and the Shaker Arts Council for sending this precious angel our way to help guide us on our journey to introduce the arts to the Mt. Pleasant community. Her warm presence, love, and appreciation for the history of her childhood...

To the Antoine family,

It was a supreme pleasure meeting and working with her on the Sankofa Fine Arts Plus board of directors. It was there we became friends and I adopted her and Mr. Antoine as my grandparents. She was helpful to anyone she could help and always had a smile on her face. She will be missed. Remember the love, the laughter and the memories.

My condolences to the Antoine and Sallee family. Mrs. Antoine was very instrumental in establishing the career of my daughter Jennifer Arnold who is a professional career musician now. Mrs. Antoine worked tireless along with other women of the Shaker Heights Interest Group in promoting African American musical talent, some along with Ms. Jennifer Arnold are now members of major orchestras. Mrs. Antoine was a phenomenal lady.May she rest in peace.Harold Arnold, Jr.

I am so very sorry for your loss. May the love and hope God promises along with prayers and support from friends comfort all of you in the days ahead. Cherish your many memories of Mrs. Antoine and the legacy she has left the family.

Sorry to hear about your mum. What a wonderful mother and lady she was much love Cathy and Steve

I cannot find the words to describe what a blessing Mrs. Antoine was to my life. Without her work as an arts advocate and benefactor providing opportunities for people of color to attend prestigious institutions like Interlochen Arts Camp, I would not be a professional orchestral musician today. I fondly remember the many times throughout my youth she provided me with performing opportunities and encouragement. Mrs. Antoine, I hope to encourage young people and help them grow just as you...
