June Begley

To June's dear friends and family...I worked with June starting in 1970 and she was my maid/matron of honor when I first got married in 1971. I had wonderful memories of fun times with June and with John and we enjoyed many many laughs and games and stories... We joked about her alphabetizing her soup cans and her love of her kitties and her "greenvet". I'm sorry I hadn't seen her this past year and didn't know she was ill. I thought about her again this past August 16th as I think that...

Dear loving family of June,
I'm sorry we never really got to know you. We would see June on summer visits to Red's house on Canandaigua Lake. I was mesmerized by the endless amounts of trivia that she and Red knew; I'm sure those NYT crosswords played a part. June was this cute little redhead, who just beamed when she told her story of meeting Elvis, and who remembered little details about what you had told her the year before. She took an interest in everyone around her, and loved to...

"Junebug" "Junesie" That's what John called her. So did we. Many years they spent Thanksgiving at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. Tony brought his own turkey to NY. June turned on the oven (maybe). We met them every year the Friday after.
Next week we will celebrate the memory of all those good times with a cocktail at PJ Clarkes (where it all started) and a prayer at St Patrick's Cathedral.
We'll miss you Junebug.
