June Cottrell

Laurie, I was saddened to read of the passing of your Mom. Sending prayers and love.

June was one of the first ladies I met when I joined the Ladies' Library Association in 2011. She welcomed me with open arms. I am also a theatre person (stage managing, not an actor), so we had that in common. Will miss her sweet personality.

June was such a joy to be around. I enjoyed talking about her love of theater and music.

June was always such a bright light for those around her. I knew her for years, especially through the Ladies´ Library, where we had lots of fun bringing her creativity to life, most memorably in a play she wrote about the founding members of this venerable club. She inspired us to dress and the act the part! I had enormous respect for her and always enjoyed her company. I am so sorry for your loss.

A lovely lady; a fantastic teacher; and a blessing to Western Michigan University, her profession, and community. May she rest in peace.

In June's career, she brightened the lives of so many children and helped launch the arts education careers of so many WMU students! She now rests in peace with lasting grace.
