June (Tennant) Dye, age 83, passed away July 12, 2010, in San Jose, Calif.

Born June 22, 1927, in Council Bluffs. June, who was married to the late Ned Dye for 62 years, is survived by her daughters, Marsha Conley (and Fred), Debby Dearinger (and Robert); her grandchildren, Wayne, Heather, and Brian Conley (and Jessica), Jennifer Dearinger Manzano and David Dearinger (and Liz). Also by her great-grandchildren, Alexander and Duncan Conley, Taeo Manzano, and Magdalene June Conley.

June was a graduate of Abraham Lincoln H.S., class of 1945. She was a musician, playing flute, accordion, piano and organ. Her love for people and sweet smile brought her many friends. She will be forever in our hearts.

June was a life-long friend and I will miss hearing from her every Christmas time. She was a wonderful flute player and we played together in the high school and University of Omaha orchestras. My condolences to all of you, her family.

Although Mom moved away from Council Bluffs when she got married in 1946, she had fond memories of growing up here and of the many friends she had through high school. Mom played in an accoridan band in junior high and the flute with the high school marching band and Nebraska Women's Symphony. In the 30's-early 50's, her parents, Denny and Nellie Tennant, had a business baking pies in the basement from their home on Harrison St. and selling them to the local restaurants and schools. Such...
