Dr. June Yvonne Fleming Diary of a Phenomenal Woman June was born April 29, 1928 to Charles and Annie Fleming of Huntsville, AL. the family relocated to the south side Chicago when June was a young child. Also residing in the Hyde Park Community for many years she was reared and received her educated in the Chicago School System. The family worshipped at Saint Anselm Church, confessing her hope in Christ at an early age she participated in several ministries, including the care and concern committee. June was a graduate of Saint Anselm elementary school, attended and graduated from St. Elizabeth High School in 1945, furthering her education at one of Chicago's City Colleges, DePaul University majoring in Education. In 1949 June was sworn into Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority (MU Chapter). After graduation from college, June landed her first job in the career of her dreams in 1951 at Austin Oliver Sexton Elementary School. An extraordinary Kindergarten teacher for over 45 years, she taught there until her retirement in 1999. June continued to inspirer and educate, as a leader she taught many but there was this one special little one in her 1966 kindergarten class that captured her heart, namely David Calloway. The Calloway family being members of the same church grew a special relationship. June was preceded in death by: her parents, Charles and Annie Flemings; her husband of many precious years William W. Flowers, no children were blessed to this union but she mentored many. On February 6, 2012, Ms. June Y. Fleming was called from her life of labor to eternal rest peacefully in the comfort of her home. June leaves to cherish her many precious memories: her extended family guardian, David (Tarra) Calloway, and their family Verezz, Davead, LaTarra Calloway and Shamond Harris of Chicago, IL a host of relatives, great friends and Soros's . Ms filament was my kindergarten teacher and I remember as a young little girl always liked it pretty thing and she was the most prettiest woman I ever wanted to I remember how tall hair a pink lips and she always wanted sharpest clothes and she was the sweetest lady ever I never wanted to leave go home from my classroom even if you was bad she take you out in the hallway and you still come back with a smile on your way she was the best teacher ever and she was there for so long many you are...

I remember very little about my childhood but I remember her being the sweetest teacher ever .. my mother loved her so much I also remember that pink play house in the class room. Such a beautiful soul RIP angel
