Not sure what to say?

It´s only been four years since you left us, but your friendship, leadership and commitment to the City of New Haven, YNHH and the New Haven Mayor´s Task Force on AIDS is sorely missed.

You are missed

I have known June Walker Holmes for 45 years. As best friends we spent decades together. Not only at SCSU, meeting in 1975 on the campus in the school of social work, we immediately bonded and that friendship would last for almost 45 years. June was my most the most intelligent friend ever, and believe me I have medical doctor friends etc. doesn’t matter her being was illuminating and consciously giving to the world always. Her number one focus in life was her loving son Ryan, that she would...

In 1987, I was an awkward young social work intern at Yale new haven hospital. One day, I observed a thin young woman with long blonde hair carrying a duffle bag that seemed twice her size. Her name was June Holmes and she was the social worker assigned to AIDS patients. I don’t remember ever being introduced to her or even speaking a word to her, but 34 years later, the vision of this slightly built woman carrying a huge bag of supplies for her patients remains etched in my mind. I’m so...

I am so sorry to note June's passing. She was a friend, and a neighbor...someone with great passion for her work and who accomplished so much. I served with her for many years on the Mayor's Task Force on AIDS, and we always had a wonderful working relationship. She will be missed.

I worked with June on & off for 30 years. Her dedication to improving life and giving hope to Aids patients was unmatchable. First met June on a pediatric floor at Yale when some of the first Aids babies were patients and from then on June was the advocate. Throughout the years we would meet discuss our jobs, our kids our memories and laugh. Always great things to be said about her Ryan . What a woman. So Sorry for your loss

I met June and Ryan in 1992, and later on, Carson. June was always kind to me. She loves and was always so proud of Ryan. I knew she was a community servant, but never bragged about her accomplishments. She was quiet and humble. I am blessed she was a part of my life and such a strong power of example.
