I used to work with Geoff Orme in the operating room at PCMC about 15 years ago. He used to always greet me with "Hello Cousin", as I am a Cannon as well. Geoff, my condolences to you, you were always a kick to work with.
Sincerely,
Shauna (Cannon) Merrill

I was a student of Mrs. Orme at South High in 1970. I can still see her standing in class giving examples of how pathos differed from tragedy. I still have a book on the elements of poetry that she gave to me back then. I'm sure she paid for it out of her own pocket. She was a most dedicated educator and inspirational woman.
And, Mrs. Orme, just so you know it sunk in...if you had passed at 30 never having taught me, that would have been a tragedy!

Dear Orme Families, Cannon Families, and close friends,
Please accept my sincere condolences and sympathies in the passing of your loved one. Mrs. June Orme was my Journalism teacher back in 1968 when I was a Sophomore at South High School in Salt Lake City. She was a wonderful individual and great educator. I remember many of the things she taught us about how important it was to write clearly and to get the message across accurately and factually.
What a wonderful obituary. I didn't...

This is a beautiful picture of June. I actually remember her looking like this as I have known her for over sixty years. I first have memories of June as the mother of my best friend, Crelley. I spent hours and hours in her lovely home, playing in the yard in the piles of autumn leaves, looking at all the lovely things that graced her living room, listening to the King and I on the record player, and watching Perry Mason with the whole family on Friday nights. I remember so well the cozy...

June welcomed me as a member of the South High English department in 1969 with a warmth and kindness that made all of the "first-year-teacher-jitters" disappear, at least as long as I was with her! We became very good friends and stayed in touch after her retirement, and also after mine. I adored her and admired her and will always remember how much fun it was to be with her and Von----especially when Von was serving strawberries Romanoff!
