The Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley, is honored to be assisting June’s family.
June was born to Egidio and Cesira (Pellegrini) Tondi in Mark on June 12, 1928. The family lived in rural McNabb, where June graduated from John Swaney High School. She grew up on the family farm, developing a love for horses.
In 1957, June and her husband, Harold (Mouse) moved to Webster Park, Spring Valley, where she resided for 56 years before moving to senior housing in Spring Valley, where she lived for five years. The couple was a popular fixture in their Webster Park neighborhood, always extending a generous hand and enjoying the company of their neighbors.
Mouse and June were married on June 19, 1954, and welcomed three children, Paula, Danny, and Julie. For more than 25 years, June was the proprietor of “June’s Beauty Shop,” which she operated in her home. She became good friends with her “ladies,” often making time for last-minute hair styling during her off hours.
June was a congregant of Immaculate Conception Church, and later Nativity of Our Lord, both in Spring Valley. Her faith was always a great source of courage and peace.
June was proud of her flower beds and loved flowers in general. She enjoyed reading and filled her later years frequently listening to audiobooks. She was also an excellent cook who was among the group of women who made homemade raviolia at Nativity of Our Lord.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mouse, in 2007, her brothers, Reno and Paul, and her sister, Irma Byczynski. June is survived by her children, Paula Pambianco (Stewart Kernes), of Waukesha, WI., Danny Pambianco (Teresa), of McKinleyville, CA, and Julie Pambianco, of Chicago. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Elisabeth King (Nate), Benjamin Kernes (Jenny), Eleanor Slayte, Mia Pambianco, and great-granddaughter, Vivienne King.
