Taylor Funeral Home - Spencer Obituary

June Elizabeth Parsons, 84, of Newton, died Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at her home.


She was born June 17, 1941, at Belva, the daughter of the late James and Duluth Amick Simpson.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Sarah Turner and Belle Wyatt.


June worked for ten years at C&P Telephone Company and four years at the U.S. Post Office in Blue Creek.


She was a member of the Newton Baptist Church where she played the organ and was a member of the Women’s Mission Circle.


June loved playing games with her grandchildren and baking.


Survivors include her husband, Virgil E. Parsons, whom she married December 19, 1962, at Clover; daughter, Sarah (Darius) Walker; grandchildren, Bailey (Kailee) Walker, Adah Walker, Selah Walker and Micah Walker; sister, Juanita Webb; brother, Jim Simpson.


The family expresses their thanks to Jessie, Amanda, Janice and Cheyenne for their loving care of June.


A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 22 at the Newton Baptist Church, Newton, with Rev. Ron Fisher and Rev. Darius Walker officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Point Cemetery, Newton.


Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church.


John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Virgil, I am so sorry to hear about June, although you know where she is, she will be missed Praying for you and your family God bless you and yours.

Sending strength, love and healing to the Parsons family during your time of grief.

She once showed me a notebook of carefully written names. There were so many. "These are the people she prays for", she told me. Then she added me and my family to her list ♥ I pray you're heavenly homecoming is beautiful.
