June Peabody, 80, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2008, at Deaconess Hospital.

June was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker. She loved yard sales and bargain shopping with her "Gal Pals." June also enjoyed watching game shows.

I always loved going with my mom and grandma to visit my Great-Aunt June. I can still remember her house vividly, in her little dining area I can remember a table or a desk that always had a little dish of candy, and as I would walk by I would snag a piece hoping nobody would notice. I also LOVED going to the Salvation Army. I will always remember the time we went and found a green Larry Bird t-shirt for my brother Justin. We were so excited to actually find a Larry Bird shirt for Justin....

I didn't really know Miss June that well but the few times I was around her I found her to be a gentle presence and an elegant lady. My thoughts and prayers are with you Linda.

My Aunt June was a wonderful person. Never someone to draw attention to herself or complain. She always had a smile and chuckle. We used to play card games and board games together with Mom, Linda and my brother, Kent after family meals. She once named one of my dolls I got for Christmas. I couldn't think of a name for her, so Aunt June named her Vicky! :)

When I grew up and was married with chidren, we would go down to Evansville and go to Goodwill and other places. One place...
