June Saxton, 67, of Dover, died Thursday, August 11, 2005, at Advance Care Hospital in St. Joseph's Mercy Medical Center in Hot Springs. A daughter of the late Harold William and Anzel Josephine Turner, she was born December 12, 1937, in Fort Smith. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Russellville. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Turner.
Survivors include her husband of forty-seven years, Bill Saxton; a daughter, Cami Saxton of Van Buren; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Jennifer Saxton of Russellville and Jay and Carla Saxton of Cave Springs; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Anne and John Halley of Fort Smith; four grandchildren, Kristyn Smith of Russellville, Morgan Saxton of Fort Smith, Michael Saxton of Cave Springs, and Payton Gottsponer of Russellville; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Funeral will be 10 A.M., Monday, at First Baptist Church in Russellville by Rev. Stephen Davis and Rev. Darrell Overstreet. Burial will be at 2 P.M., Monday at the National Cemetery in Fort Smith, by Shinn Funeral Service.
Active pallbearers will be Leon Anderson, Johnny Morgan, Danny Taylor, Phil Howard, Walter Ramsey, Roy McSpadden and H. C. Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be John Todd Halley, Jerry Halley, Andrew Halley, currently serving in Afghanistan, Ronnie Geddings, and Kirk Turner.
The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, from 5 to 6 P.M., at the funeral home.
